As soon as you register as an ICB Student you can start completing ICB qualifications.  The following qualifications should be completed in the order they appear.

Professional Bookkeeper Qualification

The Certificate covers the basic principles of double entry bookkeeping and its application in business.

Entry-Requirements

No prior bookkeeping qualifications are required but candidates must have basic numeracy skills.

Candidates must hold valid student registration.

Immediate in every week of the year.

Level II in Manual Bookkeeping

The Certificate covers the principles of manual double entry bookkeeping and its application in business.

Entry-Requirements

Candidates must have achieved or gained exemption from the Level I Certificate in Basic Bookkeeping before they may apply for the Level II Manual Bookkeeping qualification.

Candidates must also have completed the Level I examination within the last two years.

Candidates must hold valid student registration, or valid Affiliate Member or Payroll Agent status.

Assessment Type

One timed centre based assessment.

Level II in Computerised Bookkeeping

The Certificate covers the basic principles of computerised double entry bookkeeping and its application in business.

Candidates must have achieved or gained exemption from the Level I Certificate in Basic Bookkeeping before they may apply for the Level II Computerised Bookkeeping qualification.

Candidates must also have completed the Level I examination within the last two years.

Candidates must hold valid student registration, or valid Affiliate Member or Payroll Agent status.

Financial Manager Qualification

Having completed all the qualifications up to this point you can start ICB's highest level qualification.  Choose between these Level IV units or complete them all within a two-year period to be awarded the Level IV Diploma in Financial Management.  

This qualification is not membership correlative.

Specialist / Stand-Alone Qualifications

You can choose from our suite of add-on qualifications that run alongside the core bookkeeping qualifications.  Although these are not usually membership correlative you may need to pass other qualifications before you can attempt them.

This qualification covers the theoretical knowledge and demonstration of the use of various tables and publications issued by HMRC and the demonstration of how to carry out computerised handling of payroll related matters.

Candidates must:

Level III Diploma in Self Assessment Tax

This qualification comprises both Personal and Business Taxation and relates to preparing tax computations and returns for businesses (sole trader) and individuals.
